BMW check engine light and drivetrain malfunction
On a BMW, a check engine light often comes with a Drivetrain Malfunction message. Ignition coils, injectors, VANOS solenoids and vacuum leaks are common causes. We test to find which one before replacing parts.

Questions
Can I keep driving with the check engine light on?
If it is solid and the car drives normally, book a diagnostic soon. If it is flashing, the engine is misfiring badly enough to damage the catalytic converter, so stop driving and call us.
Why not just get the code read for free?
A code names a system, not a cause. One misfire code can come from a coil, a plug, an injector or a vacuum leak. Testing finds which one, so you don't pay for parts you didn't need.
